I was born in
New York City in the 1950s. As a child and teenager growing up in the 1960s, I took music lessons. My parents promoted music
in my life : however, as a child I was not thrilled with the instrument they selected for me. I soon became bored! Also
at that time, I was lucky enough to have seen some of the greatest classical musicians and composers of the 60s era; including
Jean Pierre Rampal and the great composer Igor Stravinsky conducting the American Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. Also
as a child I was lucky enough to play with a youth orchestra at Carnegie Hall. As the counter cultural 1960s errupted
around me, I found myself hanging out with many like teenagers at the Fillmore East in NYC. There, I saw many of the great
progressive groups and experimental groups of that era. Their names include Santana, The Allman Brothers, Emerson Lake and
Palmer, , Ten Years After, Spirit, Mountain, etc., These performances in conjunction with listening to two of NYCs greatest
FM Radio Stations, that being the classical music station WNCN FM and the Progessive Rock Station WNEW FM continued to light
the fire of music within me. Both of these stations had very sophisicated, DJs, if I could use that word! They spun magic
with their voices and the images they created with the music they played. Combine this with the great music and interesting
poetry and you were off on a journey. I think this is why my music can be described as an abstract fusional soundworld.
